Our first weekend of spring will bring winter weather back to the Capital Region and Upstate New York.

Winter 2023-24 for the most part has been underwhelming, with mild temps and snowfall well below the average winter in Upstate New York. But with the first weekend of spring upon us, Old Man Winter is not ready to give up!

National Weather Service Issues Winter Weather Hazards

Winter weather will return tonight (Friday, March 23th) into tomorrow (Saturday, March 24th) and it will vary across the region.

A Winter Storm Warning has been issued for northern areas in the Adirondacks and a Winter Storm Watch for the Saratoga region and areas east and west of Albany. The Greater Albany area will also get some messy weather, though snow accumulations will be minimal.

Heavy wet snow is expected, along with some ice accumulation, with the potential to cause power outages. Here are the latest snowfall predictions below for the region!

Weather Weather Hazards Issued: See Upstate NY Snow Predictions For March 22-23, 2024

The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a Winter Storm Warning for the North Country and a Winter Weather Advisory for the Saratoga Region. The NWS forecast is calling for a wet heavy snow that could cause some power outages, with some areas expecting 8 to 12 inches of accumulation. Some ice accumulation is expected as well. Snow totals will range from less than an inch in the Albany area to up to a foot possible at northern elevations in the Adirondacks. Here are the latest snowfall predictions:
