Upstate New York Casting Call For WWII Movie
If you’ve ever dreamed of being part of a movie, this could be your moment. A movie is being filmed in Upstate New York in July.
A World War II film based on true events is being shot in Troy from July 14th through July 26th, and casting is happening now.
Troy has become a favorite for filmmakers thanks to its historic architecture and timeless streets. You might recognize parts of the city from scenes in The Gilded Age or The Age of Innocence. Now, it’s taking on another era, World War II.
HBG Casting is looking for background actors of all ages. To apply, there are two Google Forms available: one for adults and one for kids. Once submitted, someone from the casting team will reach out with more details. Roles are being hand-selected by the director to match the tone and historical setting of the film.

The movie tells the story of a Rabbi and his wife during the war. Some scenes involve heavy and emotional content, including portrayals of Nazis and depictions of wartime realities. Out of respect for the true events this film is based on, the team asks all applicants to be mindful and comfortable with the subject matter.
Troy continues to shine on screen, and this summer, you could be part of that story.
