It seems like everywhere we look, someone from the Capital Region is being featured on television. After the success of Dan Raymond on Food Network's Holiday Baking Championship, there's another Upstate New Yorker showing TV how great we are!

Last week, the first two episodes of season 4 of the 'Great American Baking Show' aired on ABC and Upstate New Yorker Andrea Maranville took the top slot with a recipe for her Great Grandmother Grace's chocolate cakes. In the second episode, she made a classic holiday apple pie. New York Upstate is reporting that Maranville will go on to the next episode of the Great American Baking Show, which airs Thursdays at 9:00 pm on ABC and they're down to eight contestants.

Maranville is from Sherrill, NY in Oneida County. Utica OD said that the show was actually filmed in London back in August where they competed until one baker was left. She's a self-taught baker and attempted to be on the show last season but didn't make it. Maranville may know where she ended up but she isn't sharing that news, you'll have to watch the show to find out.
