It looks like we are finally getting closer to having Uber and Lyft in the Capital Region.

An nyup.com article says the state senate voted today and passed a bill to allow ridesharing apps like Uber and Lyft in Upstate New York. The next step is for the bill to go to the state assembly. NYUP says those in favor feel ridesharing will be a helpful addition to our transportation system, will help prevent drunk driving and will create jobs. While the senate plan differs from the one Governor Cuomo proposed last month, the Governor is on board with bringing ridesharing upstate.

Hopefully this bill takes the next step and is approved by the assembly, As nyup.com reminds us - the senate also passed a bill last year that stalled in the assembly. Fingers crossed they get this done! We have a lot of great shows coming up, and I would love the convenience of Uber to get to and fro!
