Troy Turkey Trot Goes Viral
One of the oldest road races in the country has been forced to go viral this year. In continuing with 2020 and most things having been canceled or postponed, the Troy Turkey Trot is still on, just viral this year. According to News 10 ABC, like many events in 2020, the Troy Turkey Trot has been forced to go viral this year. This will be the seventy-third Troy Turkey Trot, the twelfth oldest in the entire country. The organizers are going to utilize the app and make it easy for runners to race together.
The Troy Turkey Trot will feature four virtual events and will use the latest in remote racing technology with the Troy Turkey Trot App. There will be a 5k race, a 10k, the popular one mile Turkey Walk and the Grade School Mile. The app is designed to allow families and friends to run together even if they can't travel to Troy like in years past. They can do it from anywhere this holiday and continue the tradition. There will be individual and team results and awards.
Registration is open now and will close on Saturday, November 28th. Multiple registration price points are available. Go to TroyTurkeyTrot.com for registration and information.
Although I am not a runner, I have been to this event many times. The Troy Turkey Trot is a tradition and an important part of many Capital Region's Thanksgiving Day holiday. At least they are able to still carry on this tradition.
