Located just across the Hudson River from the state's capital, Troy, NY is no stranger to television. The pristine condition of the city's homes and buildings made it the perfect place to film HBO's The Gilded Age.

Now, a new television program is making its way to Troy, shining a spotlight on one of it's spookiest homes.

Scariest House in America

Airing on Home & garden Television (HGTV), Scariest House in America is a reality show that follows actress and comedian Retta across the United States, looking for the scariest, eeriest, and (possibly) most haunted homes she can find.

Over the course of a season, she will visit dozens of homes, and at the end, crown the "Scariest House in America" (if that wasn't obvious). When the winner is selected, interior designer Alison Victoria will give the homeowners a $150,000 renovation.

Troy's Scariest House

A home in Troy will be featured on Season 2 Episode 5, titled "Ghoulish Great Lakes". This episode will see Retta venture through New York and Michigan, looking at three distinct homes. As a part of this, the show will venture to Troy's Enslin House, a famous haunted landmark in the city.

The home was built in 1925, and has seen it's fair share of death, destruction, and treachery. Nowadays, it's a famed haunted attraction, allowing folks to know what it's like to walk through an (allegedly) real haunted house.

The episode covering this home will air on Friday, October 17th at 9p.m. on HGTV, and later be available for streaming on HBO Max.
