Today Is National Banana Day?
Each day of the year seem to be a day of celebrating something. Today is no different!
Happy National Banana Lover's Day! That's right, bananas get a day! But, for good reason. Did you know that the average person eats 33 pounds of bananas a year? That is roughly 100 bananas! Bananas are also the most popular fruit in the United States! That one REALLY surprises me.
Also a little known fact about the banana, it does not actually grow on a "tree." The "tree is an herb, making the banana a fruit of the herb!" Crazy, I know!
Bananas can be enjoyed grilled, frozen, in bread, in pudding, in muffins, in cereal or just as a plain peeled banana!
SO! With that being said...how will you celebrate?
