Times Union Center Renovation Can Begin

Times Union will retain the naming rights on our downtown arena, opening the door for a renovation project to start this year.

The Times Union has announced they have extended their deal with Albany County to retain naming rights to Albany's arena through 2020. According to the story, now that a naming deal has been struck, a planned $15.7 Million renovation project can begin later this year. You can see renderings of the renovation here.

We have had so many great shows at the Times Union Center over the years, and the goal of a renovation like this is to attract more shows and more great events. Hopefully this leads to more great GNA shows at the arena, right?
