The New York Yankees are rolling. The last thing that fans of opposing teams, like Red Sox Nation, want to hear is that the Yankees starting pitching is on the brink of getting stronger. That is exactly what is happening.

According to Dan Martin of nypost.com, Domingo German started his rehab assignment on Wednesday. German tossed three scoreless innings for the Bombers Single-A Tampa franchise. The right-hander is working his way back from a "right shoulder impingement" that has had him out since spring training.

Does Aaron Boone see this as an important addition for the Yankees starting rotation? “This is a big one," Yankees manager Aaron Boone said of German’s outing. Martin noted that if Domingo German doesn't have any injury setbacks, the pitcher will have to be put on the Yankees Major League roster in the next 30 days.

Where German fits into Aaron Boone's plans, is an interesting question. He certainly provides rotation depth. The Bombers starting 5 have rolled through the first 3 months of the season, basically, injury free. Luis Severino and Jameson Taillon are coming off of injuries. Nester Cortes is about to tie his career high in season starts and it's still June. Domingo German has had some major issues off the field but those seem to be behind him. 2021 was a bit shaky for the 29 year-old. However, the Yankees won't forget that he won 19 games for them in 2019. There is always room for good pitching. The rich may get richer very soon.
