When "Birdbox" on Netflix became all the rage earlier this month, it was reported that the film had been streamed something like 45 million times in it's first week.  The jokes started flying around wondering how there could be 45 million streams when there are only about 13 active accounts.  Pretty funny.  For those of you with a Netflix account, things are about to get a little more expensive in 2019 as the service recently announced a new price increase.

According to Newschannel 13, Netflix's most popular plan will see the largest hike, jumping from $11 per month to $13.  That's the service plan that allows two different internet connected devices to stream it simultaneously.

The new prices will immediately affect all new subscribers and then roll out to existing customers during the next three months

According to the report, the increased cash flow will help to pay for Netflix's huge investment in original shows and films.  It will also help finance some of the heavy debt it has assumed to fend off rivals such as Amazon, Disney and AT&T.
