There will be a noticeable increase in New York State Police patrols and checkpoints this week for Halloween. It's an effort to curb drunk driving and increase safety for trick-or-treaters.
It's sad that we still have to do these campaigns to make sure that people aren't drinking and driving. But because we do, the hope is that it will save more lives on the roads.
