There has been a lot of construction being done on the New York State Thruway Rest Areas and finally, we are starting to see some of the rest stops being completed. Although another rest area is open, this is one of the smaller versions of what the other ones will look like. Junius Ponds rest area about 2 hours from Albany heading west joins the Indian Castle rest area just 90 minutes west of Albany. Junius Ponds features a Starbucks and a Shake Shack. Both boast a Starbucks drive-thru and a convenience store featuring a variety of New York state products.
If you've ever been to the Panera Bread on Maxwell Drive in Clifton Park, you know it is always busy. Finally, they are doing something about it. They are building a new Panera Bread to accommodate the larger crowds by building a smaller location.
Every year Greek Fest at St. Sophia's Greek Orthodox Church in Albany is a must-attend event for me, and many of you as well. Because of the pandemic, the event that normally attracts thousands of people has been postponed until next year. But good news. You can still Go Greek this weekend as they're offering a drive thru-feast this Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

In the times that we live in with social distancing because of the coronavirus outbreak, Taco-Bell is going to be changing. They have decided to go drive-thru only if necessary.
It seems that we are always so excited when a fast food chain decides to open in the Capital Region. I can't lie, though, I never saw anyone in their drive-thru or even go in. So it was no surprise that this fast food restaurant closed its doors suddenly.
The new Capital Region Sonic Drive In will be built. It's not a question of if or even when anymore, but one question does remain: where? No specific plans have been made for a physical location, but it seems to be a sure thing that they are at least looking in our area to build.
