Siena College Receives Massive $35 Million Donation for Campus Improvements
An alumnus of Siena College has made a massive donation, the likes of which we rarely see in the state of New York.
Das Nobel, '06, Has Made a Life-Changing Donation
Nobel was quoted by Siena College in their announcement of the donation as saying the following:
“The foundation from Siena College enabled us to give back to my alma mater in a way that will impact the next generation of leaders,” Nobel said. “I am proud to be a Siena alumnus and hope this contribution will inspire future students to dream big.” - Das Nobel, Siena '06
Siena College Offers a Number of Majors and Programs
In total, Siena College has 105 total majors and programs into which prospective students can enroll. Considered a liberal arts institution, US News ranks Siena as their 13th-best regional university in the northern classification, with a current acceptance rate of 81%.
Within the School of Science, Siena has departments of biology, chemistry, computer science, environmental studies, health studies, mathematics, nursing, physics and astronomy. Nobel himself graduated with degrees in Computer Science, Software Engineering and Analysis of Algorithm, having attended Siena from 2000 through 2006.
Construction on Nobel Hall is expected to start next fall, and conclude in 2024, according to the university. Come 2024, hundreds of students will have their own opportunity to "dream big" in the Capital Region.
