An upstate New York distillery is bringing a storefront to Saratoga Springs.

Cooperstown Distillery is hitting one to the opposite field so to speak! According to a Saratoga Living story, the distillery is taking over the old Bruegger's Bagels location on Broadway in Saratoga Springs to open a new retail location and tasting room. The new location is near completion and will be ready to open any day now. The Saratoga Living story says the Saratoga branch "...will be similar to the distillery’s Downtown Cooperstown storefront, which features a tasting room, shop, and lounge. Besides spirits, that location also sells gift items, apparel, bitters, glassware, and cocktail accoutrements."

If you are not familiar with Cooperstown Distillery, according to their website they produce a "full line of spirits" with most of their grains sources from New York state and some pretty cool baseball themed glassware.

While the craft beer scene is HUGE here in the Capital Region, it feels like the craft distillery offerings are also building steam here in the region. Coupled with the great wines we also have coming from the area, you really can get locally sourced cocktails and adult beverages that cater to every taste. And talk about a great way to put dollars back into local businesses. Purchasing these locally brewed concoctions not only celebrate Upstate New York but puts dollars back into our local economy, Certainly something to raise a glass to this holiday season. Don't forget too - bottles of bourbon, or any spirit, make great gits!
