In my opinion, Saratoga County is an amazing place to live. I grew up in Saratoga County, live here now, and between the lakes, the beauty, and the great cities that make up the county, I wasn't surprised to learn that it's also one of the healthiest counties in the country.

If you’ve ever wondered how your zip code plays into your health, the answer is: a lot more than you think. A new U.S. News & World Report ranked the top 500 Healthiest Communities in the country, and Saratoga County landed at number 49.

Out of nearly 3,000 counties evaluated nationwide, Saratoga cracked the top 50. The rankings are based on how communities score across ten different categories that all tie into well-being.

Factors such as access to quality healthcare, strong local economies, affordable housing, and educational opportunities all contribute to painting a comprehensive picture of a place's overall health, not just physically, but also socially and economically.

The rankings aren’t just about who has the most gyms or parks. They dig deep into population health, equity, public safety, infrastructure, and more. The goal? To help residents, local leaders, and health professionals understand what’s working and where there’s room to grow.
