Though I haven't been as diligent as I usually am, I love to run and Upstate New York in the fall is the best time to get out there. Walk, run, stroll, whatever you do- just get outside and move!

First off, my favorite resource for all things running in the Capital Region is Albany Running Exchange. You can become a member for $10/year to find out about special events or meet up with other Capital Region runners or just use their website as a resource for some great sanctioned runs coming up. If you're from further north, you could take a look at Saratoga Stryders and Adirondack Runners.

Need easy places to run? Being from Schenectady, it'd be hard to not start the list with Central Park. It's a quick loop, not too treacherous, with one hill you won't forget. The best part is that there have a ton of 5Ks through so you would just have to look up a previous map to get a great route.

Of course, if you're in Albany, The Crossings is beautiful. On Sundays there's even a delicious Farmer's Market to get food from after some solid cardio. Or if you're looking for something with a little less people, check out the Mohawk Hudson Bike Trail (which happens to be where they host the Mohawk Hudson Marathon, so you know there's plenty to run).

I'm always open to new ideas, where do you like to go running or walking around here?
