Richie To Bring His Reading, Writing, and Rhyming Tour To Schoharie Elementary
First I would like to thank Jacqueline DeChiaro of Van Schaick Elementary School in Cohoes for kindly allowing me to change the schedule around to allow this, but I thought this needed to be done. Schoharie needs a pick me up after all of the flooding, so I am throwing the keyboard in the car and going this Friday!
I'm excited to say that I will be coming there bearing gifts. They don't know it yet, but Hannaford Supermarkets has generously donated a special FOODPLAY performance for the school. FoodPlay is an award winning production that turns kids on to healthy eating habits.
And they also don't know that Capital Communications Federal Credit Union (a new sponsor of the "tour") is also going to give one student cash to open their own savings account!).
They are also going to give more accounts away during my series of appearances in association with the Academy for Character Education at Russell Sage College (the anti-bullying tour!).
I am SO looking forward to seeing Karen Yager's class on Friday. They have been absolutely devastated there. They weren't even sure if the school was going to open on time this year. The kids especially need something positive, so I'm hoping we can write a "We Can Rebuild" type ditty!
Thanks again to the sponsors! If you are interested in booking a school appearance for the second half of this year, please get to me ASAP at Richie@wgna.com. Am booking up very quickly!
