Quin He Gao, the owner of The Dragon Garden Chinese Restaurant in West Coxsackie (about 20 miles south of Albany) served black bass, striped bass and crappie that may have been caught illegally and possibly unsafe to eat.

In a story that I read in the Times Union, Department Of Environmental Conservation wildlife officers, armed with search warrants, raided the restaurant last week. Quin He Gao was charged with a violation of possession of untagged fish and misdemeanor illegal commercialization of fish. He could be facing a year in jail and a $5000 fine for the misdemeanor. With the violation charge, that penalty could mean a $250 fine and 15 days in jail.
