How many times have you been walking or driving the street and see a plastic shopping

bag fly in front of you, or you've seen them hanging off of a shrub or branch of a tree? There may be a little change, soon, to help get those bags eliminated, at least in Saratoga Springs.

There’s a group that is starting a petition to get the plastic bags banned. The mayor supports the idea and sometime this fall, are planning to bring a formal proposal to the Saratoga Springs City Council.

In the story from WNYT, one person mentioned that she loves the idea of going green, but can’t expect people that come from out of town to bring a reusable bag, and that may cause a problem.

During the Farmer’s Market in High Rock Park, Sustainable Saratoga sells reusable canvas shopping bags as part of the effort to eliminate the need for the plastic bags.
