Popular Glens Falls Brewery Opening Taproom in Heart of Troy
There are many breweries and taprooms throughout the Capital Region. One popular brewery in Glens Falls has decided to add a second location in the heart of Troy.
Mean Max Brew Works is Adding a Second Location
Back in 2014, owner and brewer Matt Barry opened Mean Max Brew Works opened at 193 Glen Street in Glens Falls. They currently have twenty-one brews on tap. They use small three-barrel batches. They have all varieties including sours, darks, IPAs, and more. So far, Mean Max has crafted at least thirty-two beers.
Owner Matt Barry said that he was constantly being asked about their beer when they were out. He told the Albany Business Review,
We go to a lot of events, and we have a lot of people from the Albany area that come and check us out for the first time. ... We know we've got people that like our beer down this way. It'll make it easier for them to get.
Where Will Mean Max Brew Works' Second Location Be?
Mean Max Brew Works' satellite taproom is traveling down to the heart of Troy. It will be inside the Burdett Building at 251 River Street in the Monument Square area of Troy.
What Will The Troy Taproom Be Like?
The Mean Max Brew Works in Troy is fifteen hundred square feet and overlooks the Hudson River. There will be a bar, plus high and low-top tables. They plan on accommodating about fifty guests.
There will be fourteen Mean Max beers on tap and other canned beers available. Because it is a taproom, the owner says it will be just like their Glens Falls location. There won't be food available but patrons are welcome to bring their own.
In fact, Matt Barry says,
I know there are a lot of fantastic restaurants [in Troy] so we're going to welcome people to bring their food in, come here, hang out, and have some beverages.
Mean Max Brew Works Troy Taproom hopes to be open by early May
