Another chain retailer is getting ready to close up shop in the near future.

Gymboree announced late last year they were closing some stores as part of a bankruptcy plan, and the Times Union is now reporting the Crossgates Mall location now has a going out of business sale underway with 30 to 50 percent off regular price merchandise. There is no word yet on a definite date when the store will close.

Last year when Gymboree announced they were closing a bunch of stores, only the Wilton Mall location was on USA Today's list of store closings but according to the Times Union report Gymboree is now closing all of their stores. The bankruptcy will also affect Crazy 8 in the Colonie Center, which part of the Gymboree store family. That store will also be closing and also has a liquidation sale happening now, with the same discounts as Gymboree.

It is always a bummer losing these local retail locations and see folks have to find new jobs, and we will probably see more and more of these happen as online shopping continues to grow. That said, I never grasped the purchase of clothes online as fit is an important element. That said, as a parent, i know getting your kids to cooperate and try on clothes is probably easier at home.
