Colonie Man Arrested after State Police Flew Over his Pot Field

A man in Upstate New York was arrested last week when a State Police helicopter located a large number of pot plants growing in a field right here in the Capital Region.

While the perception of marijuana and marijuana use has changed dramatically over the last few years, growing it yourself,  with the intent to sell is a totally different thing.

"On September 27, 2022, the New York State Police from SP Brunswick arrested Kevin T. Noon, 51 of Colonie, NY for Criminal Possession of Cannabis in the Second Degree, a class “E” felony, Tampering with Physical Evidence, a class “E” felony and Obstructing Governmental Administration in the Second Degree, a class “A” misdemeanor."

Most of the weed-smoking stereotypes have been mitigated by the growing number of recreational marijuana users and only heightened by the number of cannabis dispensaries that recently opened within a 45-minute drive from Albany.

The law is the law - and while New York State is softening its stance on marijuana laws, you are still not allowed to grow large crops in a field, with the intent to distribute the way one he did.

According to a press release by the New York State Police, the NYSP aviation unit Troopers "located an area where Cannabis was being unlawfully grown in Schaghticoke, NY. The investigation determined Noon, (from Colonie) was responsible for the illegally possessed and grown cannabis."

According to the report, Noon is being charged with Criminal Possession of Cannabis in the Second Degree, a class “E” felony, Tampering with Physical Evidence, a class “E” felony, and Obstructing Governmental Administration in the Second Degree, a class “A” misdemeanor.

All cannabis plants involved were seized, according to the NYSP.

Chrissy & Jenn's Wedding Photos

We got married on August 13th at Birch Hill in Castleton. Everything was perfect. The weather, the setting, the kids, and everything that we had planned came together beautifully. Jenn wanted balloons instead of flowers and her vision came to life. It was such a fun and amazing wedding. We were so grateful to our families and friends that celebrated with us. Here are just a few pictures of the thousand plus that the awesome Dino Petrocelli took. He's the best.
