Not the news you want to hear, but if you're a parent in the Scotia-Glenville area, make sure your kids are aware of the people around them. There have been several reports of a man in a truck attempting to lure children.

One of the incidents reported to police happened on Thursday (7/14). A girl says she was walking to school when a man in a white truck approached and asked if she wanted a ride. She continued to walk, but the man followed her. Luckily, she made it safely to school and reported the incident.

The man is described as heavy set with white hair and a bushy white beard and was  wearing a sage green shirt at the time. The vehicle is a white pickup carrying a lot of junk in the bed. A 'foul odor' was also said to be coming from the truck.

One local mom told News 10 that she's taking extra precautions and telling her kids to be on the lookout.

Definitely leave right away. If they have their cellphone, call a parent. I try not to have them outside after dark and try to stay with friends as much as you can and not be by yourself and be aware. Be aware of your surroundings.
