Own Your Favorite Country Star’s Wardrobe Through Instagram
Ever watched one of your favorite country artists walking down the red carpet and wished you could have that dress, or those shoes? Thanks to Little Big Town's Karen Fairchild, now you can!
In August, Mondelli uploaded pieces of Fairchild's and bandmate Kimberly Schlapman's wardrobe to Instagram and within a minute, they sold 75% of the inventory! Then, in September, they tried it again. They put up pieces of Fairchild's and Schlapman's wardrobe and then later in the month, they added pieces from Kacey Musgraves. Both equally successful!
Now, people are setting up alerts and artists are flooding the inbox looking to sell their own clothes. What started as Mondelli consigning Fairchild's clothes, turned into an Instagram account in February, which seemed like a "natural extension."
The way The Boot explained it, "Followers can preview items ahead of time via the Stage to Closet Instagram feed, and when a sale goes live, shoppers DM a photo of their desired item and their contact info; the first in (the virtual) line gets first dibs."
