Operation Song Returns For A Special Performance & Songwriting

Operation Song honors and salutes Veterans in a truly unique and special way. Some of Nashville's most talented songwriters will once again gather here in the Capital Region for a special songwriting session with local Veterans to tell their powerful and personal stories through song.

Operation Song says its mission is to "...empower veterans, active-duty military members, and their families to tell their stories through the process of songwriting. Those we serve need no musical or writing skills, only a willingness to share their stories and, with the help of professional songwriters, transform them into song."

Operation Song will be bringing its crew of talented songwriters to Schenectady for a  songwriters' round with local Veterans in September, and you will be able to see these special songs played live by the songwriters. A special performance will be held Saturday, September 13th, at The Empire State Aerosciences Museum, and you can purchase tickets here.

I attended last year's event, and I can tell you the stories from our Veterans, and sometimes their families, were not only powerful and moving, but also gave me a whole new level of appreciation for what our military men and women go through to keep us free and safe. They are stories every American should hear to truly understand and appreciate the sacrifices our Veterans have made.
