NY State Baseball Hall of Fame Coming to Gloversville-Take a Look
Where Will The NY Baseball Hall of Fame be located?
The Parkhurst Field Foundation and the New York State Baseball Hall of Fame have decided to build their first-ever museum at Harrison Street in Gloversville. It will be located at 45 Harrison Street right across from the Parkhurst Field historic park. The Parkhurst Field Foundation will house the future museum and hall of fame.
Has There Always Been a NY State Baseball Hall of Fame?
The New York State Baseball Hall of Fame was created over ten years ago. There are a number of all-time great Major League Baseball players, coaches, contributors, as well as local athletes, teams, and more that have been inducted from all over the state. They include Bobby Murcer, Thurman Munson, Gil Hodges, Vin Scully, John Sterling, Craig Phillips, David Palmer, John Franco, and Tino Martinez.
What Can We See Inside the Museum?
You will be able to check out their artifacts, including their bats, signed baseballs, hats, jerseys, pictures, baseball cards, and more inside the sixty-five hundred square foot building. There will also be a Hall of Fame plaque wall that will honor the one hundred plus inductees. A theatre room will show player and career highlights as well as hold induction speeches and special events.
David Karpinski, the Executive Director of Parkhurst Field Foundation said this of the plan:
We are thrilled to bring his Hall of Fame vision to Gloversville in conjunction with our buildout of Parkhurst as a destination. The combination of a historic baseball facility across the street from the NYS Baseball Hall of Fame, which honors many of the greatest players and contributors from across the state, will only enhance our vision of making Parkhurst Field and this region a destination for baseball enthusiasts and families.
It will be a great place for families to continue to play, watch, and learn about the game of baseball in New York state.
