Help Adirondack Exotics Rebuild After The Devastating Gloversville Fire
A devastating fire tore through a historic abandoned Gloversville building on Tuesday night, causing it to collapse. No one was hurt battling the fire, and fortunately, the building was unoccupied. But there was a small pet store nearby that was a total loss. Now people are banding together to help the owners rebuild.

The biggest loss of this massive fire was Adirondack Exotics. It was a small exotic pet store that handled mainly reptiles. This was so important to its owners, and the loss of all of the pets was devastating.
According to the Daily Gazette, the building was gutted, and all of the animals, the equipment, and everything inside were gone.
On Wednesday morning, the owners shared their heartbreak on Facebook.
"A fire started in the building next to ours and spread fast," they wrote. "In minutes, everything we built was gone. The animals, our pets, are the heart of our shop. All of it."
Adirondack Exotics had only moved into the space last fall. The shop sold reptiles and other exotic animals, and often traveled to expos around the region. They were just at the Finger Lakes Reptile and Exotic Show this past weekend.

To the owners, it was never just a business.
It was a dream. A passion. A way to connect with people who love animals as much as they do.
Now they are asking for help.
"We’re trying to pick up the pieces," they wrote in a GoFundMe post. "If you’ve supported us, visited our shop, or believe in second chances, please consider donating or sharing."
They are not ready to give up. But they need their community to help them begin again.
