Travel is ramping up and more passengers will be passing through Albany International Airport. There will be a high volume of travelers during spring and summer so the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) needs to hire both full and part-time agents.
How Much Does a TSA Agent Make?
According to the TSA press release, salaried jobs start at $37,753 per year if you are hired before July. If you are hired after July the annual salary increases to $38,878. After one year as a TSA agent, your salary gets bumped up to $47,878. Then after two years of full-time employment, the salary jumps to $58,563 per year.
What Experience Do You Need to Become a TSA Agent?
There is no prior work experience in law enforcement or security. All new employees are trained at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center and are paid to train.
