While we wait for the Capital Region to meet it's final guidelines, our neighbors to the North have now met all the reopening requirements.

It's more good news as the end of New York Pause arrives this Friday: the North Country just became the fourth economic region to meet the states seven requirements to reopen, according to New York state's regional monitoring dashboard. The North Country joins the Southern Tier, Mohawk Valley and the Finger Lakes regions as the 4 areas of the state that can start phase 1 of reopening Friday. This will include construction, manufacturing and other low risk activities.

If you are wondering how the Capital Region is going, we are currently meeting 5 of the 7 guidelines to reopen. According to the state dashboard, our region still needs to meet the 14 day decline in hospitalizations and the 14 day decline in deaths.

Big picture, the good news even through we probably will not reopen this weekend here in the Capital Region, we are so close and we have 2 regions right next to us who will start the reopening process. It is only a matter of time until we get there in the Albany area and we can certainly start seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. We are taking baby steps right now, and those are better than no steps forward. Lets hope our stay at home efforts continue to build momentum against the virus and we can get back out and about soon!
