New York Is Dedicated To Helpings Kids Mental Health
Ever since the turn of the century, the digital age has been moving faster and faster. In some ways, this is beneficial. We have our own Library of Alexandria at our fingertips, giving us information on anything we need to know.
Unfortunately, there is a dark side to the internet, and most children are unaware of how to navigate it, but New York is stepping in to help.

Mental Toll of the Digital Age
We've found ourselves controlled by our screens. No matter what we're doing, it always seems like the internet is a part of it. A major part of this is Social Media, being able to see what everyone in the world is doing at any given time.
This can lead to high levels of anxiety and depression, especially amongst younger kids who aren't able to regulate their emotions as well. As such, the digital age has become a problem for the youth and New York wants to fix that.
Help New York 'Be Well'
This hit Governor Kathy Hochul right where she lives. She's the fist mother to be Governor, and as such wants to protect all the children in her state. To achieve this the State Office of Mental Health has updated their "Be Well" site, which is meant to help Mental Health statewide.
The site's new additions focus on maintaining healthy habits on your screens, and understanding how the digital age is affecting us. The program is broken up into four sections: "For Everyone", "For Youth and Young Adults", "For Parents and Caregivers", and "For Educators". So no matter who you are, you have the ability to start a more digital friendly tomorrow, today.
