New Owners Excited to Re-Open Historic Diner in Upstate NY
Gibby's Diner, Middleburgh
The new owners of a popular, historic diner in Upstate NY have excitedly announced their plans to re-open this Spring!
According to the new owners, Gibby's Diner in The Hamlet of Duanesburg will once again start slinging your fast-order favorites after a two-year hiatus.
Gibby's Diner, which had been in operation for nearly 70 years, was closed by its previous owners in December 2021, and while it was a difficult decision, it was one the previous owners had to make.
The TU story explained how former owners Glen and Colleen Glindmyer came to the decision saying that they had thoughts about leaving the industry for years. Adding that "the rigors of running a restaurant impeded them as they age."
The rumors are true!
In a Facebook post seen by thousands and shared by hundreds, new owner Tiffany Angelides-Slingerland wrote about the rumors of the Schenectady County diner, finally reopening.
"The rumors are all true we will be reopening Gibby's and we hope everyone is as excited as we are!! It will remain a good old-fashioned family-run diner with homemade food...We look forward to seeing old friends and meeting new ones. We cannot thank everyone enough for their continued support as we start this new adventure!! "
Gibby's has a tentative opening date of May
According to the Facebook post by Angelides-Slingerland, anticipation is at an all-time high as they get ready to re-open the doors. "We are working as quickly as possible to get through the necessary channels to open as soon as we can .......we anticipate mid to end of May!"
