New Mohawk River Scenic Pedestrian Bridge Now Open [PHOTOS]

Looking for a new scenic destination to take in nature? Check out this new spot over the Mohawk River in Amsterdam!

Governor Cuomo announced yesterday the Mohawk Valley Gateway Overlook in is now open. According to the Governor's office, the $17.5 Million project  'connects the city’s south side to the downtown area across the Erie Canal and features scenic overlooks and local artwork.'

Governor Cuomo says:

 "This majestic scenic overlook is both a means to reach a destination and a destination in itself. The completion of this project will attract new visitors to the City of Amsterdam, increase regional tourism and help fuel economic growth in the Mohawk Valley."
