It's time to add to your list of dining options on Southside Drive in Clifton Park.

As a Clifton Park resident, I feel like once a week I am picking up food of some sort at the strip mall on Southside Drive. From the hot dogs at the Dog Haus, to burgers at Five Guys, to great sandwiches at Jersey Mike's, to a bag full of burgers at Five Guys: it is one great eatery after another and the literal walking menu is growing. Now Indian cuisine is joining the list of options.

According to a post on their Facebook page, Spice Malabar Indian Cuisine will open for business this Tuesday, March 16th at the Shops at Village Plaza. The restaurant is being run by the same group who heads up Karavalli, another well known Indian restaurant in Latham. At press time their menu is not yet available on their website, but according to a representative at the restaurant who I spoke with earlier today, it will be live on the site tomorrow. According to a press release from Malabar today, "Seafood is at the heart of Spice Malabar’s menu with equally distinct poultry, game and vegetarian selections" and "The ambiance is authentic as the food, giving guests a feel for Indian culture."

Clifton Park is obviously known as a haven for chain restaurants, but lately, we are seeing more and more we are seeing unique local options coming to the table. Get your seat at the table at Spice Malabar by getting more info at 518-478-8087.  Malabar will be open for Lunch Tuesday through Friday from Noon to 2:30 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday Noon to 3 p.m. Dinner hours will be Tuesday through Saturday from 5 to 9:30 p.m. and Sunday from 5 to 9 p.m.
