NASCAR Eliminates 4 Drivers Which 8 Remain?
Talladega is now behind us and four more teams have been eliminated from the "Chase" for the Championship. One of the drivers eliminated was Kyle Busch who was actually in very good shape going into today's race at the super speedway, all he had to do was avoid a crash, he didn't.
The other three eliminated drivers were all drivers for Team Hendricks. 6 Time Champion Jimmie Johnson, fan favorite Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Kasey Kahne. Each of these drivers, more so Jimmie and Jr. pretty much had to win to get into the next round of NASCAR'S new playoff system, unfortunately for them this was also the case for former Champion Brad Keselowski who wont the race today to advance.
For me as a Jimmie Johnson fan the best case scenario would have been Jimmie wins and advances, an OK scenario would have been Dale Jr. wins and advances, and the absolute WORST case scenario was exactly what happened. Ugh, I am just not a fan of the whining, selfish antics of Mr. Keselowski.
Oh well, what is done is done so as only 4 races remain until the champion is named here are the drivers who are left in the chase, keep in mind at this point moving forward they are all even in points.
Joey Logano, Kevin Harvick, Brad Keselowski, Jeff Gordon, Carl Edwards, Denny Hamlin, Ryan Newman and Matt Kenseth.
Who do you think will win it all in the end? I being the "team" player I am will be rooting for Jeff Gordon. Ugh, that was hard to say.
