NASCAR Could Make Chase History This Season – Rookies Buescher & Elliott Are In!

This year’s NASCAR Chase could be one for the history books!

It started at Pocono Raceway this season, when Chris Buescher won the race after rain caused a red flag to end the race.  That win put him in Chase contention only needing 6 points to make it.  This week at the rain delayed race at Bristol, he finished fifth putting him in the Chase, for now.  That puts two rookies in the Chase making NASCAR history!

Although Chase Elliott has not won a NASCAR Sprint Series race this season, he has gathered enough points to be in 12^th place!  I’d say that’s a pretty good rookie season!

I’m not a huge fan of the Chase format, but having a couple young rookies in the mix is certainly making it a little more interesting for me.

I’m not saying I’m superstitious or anything, but maybe the rain is a good omen for Chris Buescher!
