On Saturday night, 22-year-old Christopher K. Abaire from Clifton Park was arrested after he allegedly fired a shotgun at the Malta Drive-In, just south of Saratoga Springs.

I saw the story in the Times Union. New York State Police said that there was a fight between some people in two cars. That’s when Abaire allegedly fired two rounds with a gun that he took out of his trunk, as his way to try to stop the fight. The gun was a .410 caliber shotgun.

Everyone involved left the scene, but after a short time, Abaire was stopped by police and then taken to the Saratoga Trooper barracks. Abaire was given two tickets to appear in Malta Town Court. He was charged with fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon and second-degree menacing.

I can’t imagine what people were thinking when they heard a gunfire at the drive-in, and all they were doing was trying to enjoy the movie. At least on one got hurt.
