Look For a New Brewery to Run ‘Hog Wild’ in Saratoga County Soon

Get ready to visit another local brewery and go hog wild or as they say, "go pig or go home"! Saratoga County will get a brand new brewery called the Speckled Pig Brewing Company, which will open soon.

Where Is the New Speckled Pig Brewing Company Located?

There is a building on Washington Street in Ballston Spa that used to be a former dress factory but has been vacant for over thirty years. The address is two buildings 11 and 13 Washington Street.

What Will Be Served at the Speckled Pig Brewing Company?

All of the beers will be brewed in-house and on-site. They also have a custom wood-fired pizza oven.

They will have a few items on their menu. Of course, wood-fired pizzas, charcuterie boards, and Barvarian pretzels are served with beer cheese. The owners hope to keep the patrons enjoying their brews while having something to eat inside their taproom. They say many breweries don't offer food so people come and grab some pints and go out to eat at other places according to the Daily Gazette.

How Did The Brewery Get Its Name?

Partner and Assistant Brewer, Larry Heid said that the name pays respect to farmers. He said,

We’re a New York state farm brewer. Some of the farms we would go to, we took note at this one farm, these pigs were all speckled. Like Oh that’s kind of a cool name. That’s where the name came from.

The Speckled Pig Brewing Company will offer many different craft beers. Before the space in Ballston Spa, the owners and partners were home brewers.

They hope to have live music and the focus is to offer a taproom with wood-fired pizza, in-house brews, and good vibes.

They will also have a section of Speckled Pig Brewing Company merchandise.

The Speckled Pig Brewing Company will officially open on Friday September 23rd at 4pm.
