It was once a McDonald's and now it will serve as a brand new grocery store in an area where it is badly needed. The residents in that area of Albany have been hoping to get a grocery store in what they call a food desert.

A press release on Tuesday by Rivers Casino and resort in Schenectady says they're ready to roll and will be opening up "very soon."  It's been months single Capital Region residents have had a chance to stay local and get their gamble on, but it appears as if the wait will soon be over.
