A local bank is getting the spirit of the season by giving back to the Capital Region.

We love supporting local businesses at 107.7. And we REALLY love supporting the ones that give back to the communities they serve. That is just what Trustco Bank is doing.

According to a press release from the bank. they are donating $40,000 to "local housing agencies and community loan finds" in the communities they serve, including those in Upstate New York and the Capital Region. Robert J. McCormick, Chairman, President, and CEO of Trustco Bank said "Many Americans have had financial difficulties this year due to COVID-19.  By supporting these housing agencies and community loan programs, we believe families in need can still enjoy a safe, affordable home to spend the holidays." You can find a full list of the housing organizations receiving grants on the Trustco website.

Trustco Bank not only providing this housing assistance during the pandemic, but they also made $30,000 in donations to several frontline organizations earlier this year including Ellis Hospital, Albany Med, and more. You can see the full list of those organizations here.

We are truly lucky to have great local businesses here in the Capital Region like Trustco Bank who do their best to help out folks in the communities they serve. It is one thing to operate a business in a community, but a business becoming part of the fabric of that community and taking an interest in the well-being of those living in it is the type we should all support. Big kudos to Trustco for consistently giving back here in the Capital Region!
