Keith Anderson was born on January 12, 1968 and grew up in Miami, Oklahoma. After he graduated from high school, he attended Oklahoma State and earned an engineering degree.

Keith almost didn’t become a country star. He played baseball in college, and almost ended up playing for the Kansas City Royals. Unfortunately for him, he injured his shoulder, which ended any hopes of becoming a professional baseball player.

Keith did get a job working for an engineering firm, but about a year and a half later, he quit to pursue his musical career, which didn’t happen overnight. Like most artists, because of the not “making it” in the music business, Keith had a few years of struggling financially.

Things started turning around for Keith in 2004, when “Pickin’ Wildflowers,” his first hit reached the top ten. He’s been going strong ever since. Keith also co-wrote “Lost In This Moment” with Big and Rich.

If memory serves me correctly, when he was in the Albany area for a show, Keith rode to the WGNA studios on his motorcycle for a visit a few years ago. Happy birthday to our friend, Keith Anderson.
