Jake’s Favorite BBQ Side Dishes [VIDEO]

As I get ready for the Country 107.7, WGNA-FM Taste of Country BBQ Championships this Saturday from 11am-10pm at the Saratoga Casino and Raceway it goes without saying that BBQ is awesome, but the sides are what really make it a meal.

So when I am trying a world class piece of BBQ brisket on Saturday, I have to go with some baked beans and a little mac and cheese. That's living! For dessert, I think I'll have a little live country music from Broken Bow Records recording artist James Wesley. Here's his current hit riding up the country charts right now "Didn't I". James will be taking the stage at 6pm-7:30pm!

Then when I head over to sample the different competitors pulled pork I will have to make sure I hit it with some extra spicy BBQ sauce, and a side of coleslaw. That's it. Pulled pork goes with coleslaw, nothing else! Then I will wrap up that round of BBQ chomping fun with a heaping helping of country superstar Phil Vassar who will be rocking the crowd from 8-9:30pm! Tickets for this awesome family event are just $15 now and you can get yours at any Price Chopper Supermarket or the Players Club at Saratoga Casino and Raceway. They will be available at the gate for $20 this Saturday as well. Here are some key things you need to know since this is an all day event running from 11am-10pm.

1. Re-entry is allowed. You can come early, head to the flat track for the races and come back afterward.

2. All paid adult admissions will recieve a $20 free play from Saratoga Casino and Raceway that you need use this Saturday.

3. Your admission gets you samples from the BBQ competitors, country music all day including James Wesley and Phil Vassar. There will be other vendors and other food for sale as well. A kidz fun zone. A beer garden for adults as well. These competitors are the best in America, and it is serious as they cook their butts off for big prize money!
