Sad Story Of A Dog Left Tied To A Light Post On A New York Highway
Dogs are considered man's best friend. Big guys, little pups and every wet slobbering size in-between loves us unconditionally. They are there to greet us with excitement every time we return home and, better yet, the feeling we have taking them with us on our next adventure.
If you have a dog, and even if you don't, this story will tug at your heartstrings. New York State Police Troop L are seeking information after finding a dog tied to a light post on the Southern State Parkway. Here's what we know so far.
On Monday July 1st, according to a New York State Police press release, at approximately 5:30am New York State Troopers responded to Exit 21 of the Southern State Parkway in Uniondale, NY for reports of a dog tied to a light pole.
Troopers did indeed find what is described as a white female Mastiff. Someone used the dog's leash to tie the pooch to a light pole. Near the dog was a note and a bowl filled with food.
New York State Police are seeking any information regarding this case as the incident is still under investigation. If you witnessed anything or have any information please contact Troopers at 631-756-3300. There was a note left with the dog that reads:
This is Roxi, a trained American Bull Mastiff. She is 4-years-old. She has been fed and given a flee bath. She may still have issues with them. See that she gets good care. - anonymous note
Roxi was safely taken to the Town of Hempstead Animal Shelter for evaluation.
