It's barely 10 degrees this morning, in the Colonie, N.Y. area.

In Los Angeles, Ca. it's 52 degrees, with an expected high temperature of 75, later today. This sounds like a place where a lot of us would love to be.

How many times have you heard "the other man's grass is always greener"? In this case, it's not generally true. Last summer, Linda, my wife, and I went to visit her sister and my daughter, both live in "The Golden State", not far from Los Angeles. For the most part, it was beautiful. Sunny and warm, but this comes with a price. I would take my morning walk around the neighborhood, and see lawns that hadn't been watered in a day or so. Well green turned to brown.

This happened if the lawns weren't watered daily. My sister-in-law told me about her water bill. Because of having to water at least once a day, her water bill was in excess of $200.00 per month. Just something to think about next time we complain about how cold it is.
