WGNA presents it's fourth season of Country Idol at Vapor in Saratoga Casino and Raceway.

How To Register For Country Idol

-Auditions are open to anyone who is not signed to a major record label. Former winners are also excluded from the competition.

-Click on the Country Idol Sign-Up Form at the top of wgna.com to submit an entry. Click here for a direct link to the entry form.

-Contestants must select a song that is or has been a Top 40 Country Hit. Many people get disqualified by not submitting hit recordings. To verify if your song selection has made the Top 40 charts, you can do a search on wikipedia.org.  You can also be sure that if you've heard the song on WGNA, it's a Top 40 Hit.

-On-line registration closes at Noon the day before each competition. 10 On-line entries are selected at random and contestants are notified via Email.

-10 People are also picked in person at Vapor. Sign up near the host stand when you enter Vapor on the night of the competition, BEFORE 8pm. Remember to make sure that you're submitting a Top 40 hit to be eligible, if your name is picked at random.

-Sadly, not everyone will get a chance to sing.  However, for every two people cut by the judges, one singer is added at the end from that night's in person registration.

-Contestant Line-Up is subject to change in the event of technical difficulties or other issues beyond our control.

-Contestants not already in the finals are welcome to enter the competition every month.

Judging Criteria

-The audition rounds feature guest rotating judges. WGNA radio personalities, experienced musicians, entertainers, and people associated with all aspects of music and entertainment.

-3 Judges determine the nights winners by scoring each singer on appearance (10 points), stage presence (15 points) and vocals (25 points). The top 5 scoring singers of the night are invited to the finals in June.  On the final night, a panel of 4 judges will use the same scoring methods to determine the $5,000 winner.

Vapor is 21 and over only.
