Are you worried that there may be a recall that you missed on your truck or car? Or maybe you are considering a buying a used vehicle and want to find out if there are any recalls that have not been addressed. Now you can easily check for yourself.

This past week the U. S. Department of Transportation announced that a new tool is available that provides a quick and easy way to identify uncompleted recalls. All you need to do is enter your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) at a website that is maintained by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

You can find the tool at the safercar.gov website. All major light vehicle and motorcycle brands can be searched for free.

Every year, millions of vehicles are recalled due to safety defects or noncompliance with federal safety standards. Now you can readily be sure that a particular vehicle is safe and any safety defects have been addressed.
