Finally, a Chick-Fil-A NOT in an airport!

Two Chick-fil-A's are set to open up in the Capital Region on Thursday and as you can imagine, there will be long lines and plenty of gridlock - and that's before you even get close to the restaurant.

A few years back, when we learned that Capital Region residents were willing to buy an outgoing plane ticket at Albany International Airport so they could eat Chick-fil-A, things got real.

It's a great product, and the service is fantastic, and while I never personally paid plane ticket prices for their chicken, I have made stops out in Massachusetts to get my hands on their crispy, delectable signature sandwich.

Two Capital Region Chic-Fil-A's to Open on Thursday

The Capital Region is set to open up its first two stand-alone Chic-fil-A restaurants, one in Rensselaer and another in Clifton Park on July 20th and both restaurants will be open for dine-in, drive-thru and carry-out from 6:30 a.m. to 10 p.m.

The management team at Chick-fil-A is buttoned up, and they know that things are  going to be a little hectic during the grand opening weekend - and probably for months after.  As a result, they have worked hard to develop a plan.
"We have worked closely with local officials to develop traffic management plans in an effort to serve guests quickly and be good neighbors in their communities",  they said in a press release.

Chick-fil-A management offered these traffic tips for customers in regard to our two newest franchises.

Chick-fil-A North Greenbush:

To access the restaurant, they say to enter on Route 4 and access the entrance at the stoplight. There will be signage at the restaurant and Team Members ready to direct guests.

Chick-fil-A Clifton Park Center:

  • From I-87 Northbound, we suggest guests take Exit 8A, turn left onto Grooms Rd., right onto Moe Rd. then right on Clifton Park Center Rd., where they will follow signage to enter the restaurant on the left.
  • To access the restaurant from US 9, guests are encouraged to follow Sitterly Rd. up to Clifton Park Center Rd., where they can enter the restaurant on the right.
  • From I-87 Southbound, take Exit 9W to join NY-146, continuing westbound to Moe Rd., then turning left on Clifton Park Center Rd., where they can enter the restaurant on the right.
  • If on Clifton Country Road, continue straight ahead past Clifton Park Center Road and past both mall entrances, turning left on Clifton Park Center Rd., and take a right into the parking lot to follow the guidance of Team Members on-site.
