Halfmoon Sandwich Shoppe Closed But Owner Cooking Something Up
After a fifteen-year run, the Halfmoon Sandwich & Salad Shoppe closed its doors on August 20th. Although it appears to be the end of this establishment, the owner may have something cooking.
Why Did The Halfmoon Sandwich & Salad Shoppe Close?
According to owner Sean Lee, the lease was up at 1613 Route 9 in Halfmoon. They had occupied that building since 2007. They felt it was time. Even though rumours are swirling, Sean Lee says the Halfmoon Sandwich & Salad Shoppe is permanently closed. This sign on their Facebook page gave some hope.
The caption read, "Coming in the late fall. New restaurant. New concept. New location."
Where is That Location in the Sign Message?
Back in the late 1980s when the Vent Fitness location was Starburst Roller Rink, the building in the forefront was Mama's Pizza. It was perfect for an after-skate slice. Fast forward to today, the building was supposed to open as Stromboli's Pizza & Grill but never opened because of the pandemic. This is the address listed on the old Halfmoon Sandwich & Salad Shoppe.
Sean Lee says on his Facebook page to just keep following along for more details on what he will be opening. He does say that it will NOT be the Halfmoon Sandwich Shoppe only that it will be a new business coming in late fall.
