Hey, it was nice while it lasted.  Male domination, male chauvinism, that feeling of superiority that we all felt for the past couple of centuries. Well, guys.  It's over!   Everybody grab a geeeeetar and start singing "The Times They Are A-Changin'"! There's an article in Newser.com that basicially spells it out:

Women for the first time hold most of the country's jobs; three-quarters of the 8 million jobs lost in this recession belonged to men; more women go to college, etc.

Well, think about it.  When we were an industrial economy and there were factory jobs and construction job and "hands-on" work, "size mattered".  Strong men were needed.  The women need not apply .  But it doesn't take a "manly man" necessarily to sit at a computer screen all day, which is what 9/10 of us basically do nowadays.     The article continues:

The attributes that are most valuable today—social intelligence, open communication, the ability to sit still and focus—are, at a minimum, not predominantly male. In fact, the opposite may be true.

Not trying to cause an argument here, but isn't that discrimination in reverse?  Now it's assumed that we are these big burly bunch of shlubs who can't sit still unless the game is on, can't hold an intelligent conversation unless we are discussing trucks and powertools  and can't concentrate on what people are saying???   That only happens when we are at home!!!

Guys--we can't take this lying down!   Unless you are satisfied being a future house-husband while your better half goes to work and slaves over a hot PC all day while you watch stuff on your DVR's, you better get out there, start talking coherently, refrain from using the terms "dems and dows" and start telling these ladies that we're not just a bunch of airheads.  (man, that DVR thing is starting to  sound good though, doesn't it??)
