Gov. Cuomo: NY Casinos Can Reopen Sept. 9
Governor Cuomo announced this morning that casinos can reopen in New York this coming Wednesday, September 9th.
It's another one we can finally check off the "When will they reopen" list. Governor Cuomo announced this morning that casinos could reopen this coming Wednesday, according to a Times Union story. Casinos were one of the few remaining businesses that were still shut down in New York, so this is certainly good news for casino employees and patrons.
Just like all other businesses that have reopened, casinos will have some guidelines that need to be met, including:
- Upgraded filtration for HVAC systems
- To have table games, barriers need to be in place used between players
- Slot machine players spaced 6 feet apart
- Masks must be worn
First, this is really great news for casino employees. The more people we get back to work during this pandemic, the better. It's great news for us too in the Capital Region who just want more stuff to do. Hopefully, bigger events and gatherings are not too far behind!
