Google and Apple in the Capital Region! [PHOTO]
I'm a tech nerd so bear with me. I'm the type of person who watches every Apple Keynote live, I know the new specifications of products coming out, and if there's an app that's gaining popularity I have to try it. So imagine my excitement when I saw Apple and Google in person!
What started as a casual drive home from WGNA on Thursday, turned into seeing the Google Maps car. If you don't know the process,
the way it works is that a car drives around with 360 cameras and those pictures are what you see when you go to Street View. That's why you get funny images like the ones Mashable put together. I don't know how much of the Capital Region they plan on updating but State St to Balltown Rd was definitely on their radar.
I thought that alone was cool until I saw on the Albany subreddit today that someone saw the Apple Maps car. How crazy! Flash forward to driving with my Mother on the thruway, about to get off of Exit 25 and there it was! Apparently they may have been testing some self-driving car software along with updating their maps.
